Tiffany is a pastor’s kid from Washington state where she learned to love mountains, big trees and Jesus. She got a teaching degree from Western Washington University and, after graduation, she moved to Pakistan where she taught English. Tiffany returned to America to attend Dallas Theological Seminary and earned a Masters of Arts in Cross-Cultural Communications. It was at seminary that she met her husband, Bart, and the couple moved to Morocco where they lived for six years and had two children, Joey and Jasmine. While they were in Morocco Tiffany learned Arabic, spent a lot of time in the homes of Moroccan women and started a group for young mothers. The Carnefix family returned to the Dallas area in 2010 and they intentionally moved into neighborhoods with a high concentration of immigrants. Tiffany started volunteering at For the Nations Refugee Outreach in 2014, once her youngest child entered school. At
first, she only volunteered once a week, but her commitment has grown and for several years she has been the teacher of the ABC class, the lowest level English class at For the Nations. She loves teaching this class because so many of the students have never been to any school and they are enthusiastic and grateful for the chance to learn. Tiffany is now joining For the Nations formally as a staff member in 2026. When she is not teaching, Tiffany likes to walk, watch British murder mysteries and cooking shows and eat food from around the world with her husband and college-aged children.
